Frogs and their significance

Frogs are a group of very common animals, in which you can include, as well as all non-tailing amphibians, and only representatives of the real Frog family. Usually, under the frogs, this is a family and implied.

Description of the frogs

The sizes of different types of frogs vary from 1 to 30 cm, but most species have average sizes of 10-15 cm. They have a dense, jagged body with well-developed limbs, which allows them to jump far away (at distances ten times larger than amphibian sizes) . Moving these muddy amphibians, by the way, also jumps.

The colors of different representatives of this group of animals can vary greatly. Basically, they are painted either in green tones, or in dark brown, brown. Moreover, their body is often covered with patterns of dark color (strips or dots, for example), but again, not in all species.

The distinctive features of the frogs are jumping and their long tongue, by which they catch their victims. This is probably due to the well-developed muscles and the strong stickiness of the tongue. Amphibians can literally shoot them at tens of centimeters, as a result of which the victims stick to the tongue and go straight to the mouth of the carnivorous amphibian. Incidentally, they include insects, larvae, worms, caterpillars, mollusks, beetles and even small fish.

The meaning of frogs

Since these volcanic amphibians are practically spread throughout the world, they play an important role in nature. And the main benefit they bring to man is the destruction of insects. After all, for the most part, frogs feed on flies and mosquitoes, and they, besides being very annoying insects, are also dangerous. Therefore, the reduction in their number is quite feasible.

Also, some types of frogs are used to extract poisons, and many of them are very strong. For example, earlier the poison of these animals was used to manufacture poisoned arrows and darts. Well, now frog poison is used in medicine.
By the way, poisonous are not all kinds of frogs. Detecting dangerous amphibians can be very bright color.

And of course, the frogs are used in cooking, considered a delicacy in many countries. Frog legs are especially popular.
